Future goals of the VioLet Composer project

VioLet Composer has ambitious goals both as an application and as a codebase. Some of the improvements scheduled for later development include:

• Neat codebase: VioLet Composer aims to become a simple, powerful base on which to build audio spaces and processing tools, especially those for arranging music.
• 100% cross-platform: The project aims to become the first well-developed and supported open source music composing application aimed directly at end users that runs on any platform.
• Multimedia processing: VioLet Composer aims to be able to process many types of multimedia data, including wavelets, PCM audio and video data. Arrangement, synchronisation and cross-processing of this data will be possible using standard tracker programming.
• Audio exploration: The project hopes to inspire the investigation of different domains for representing audio and their applications in writing music and processing sounds.
